Want to write for LeToyaNews.com?
by LeToyaNews on Sep.16, 2009, under MISC.

LeToya News Network is growing fast with an average of 35,000 views daily (over 2 million views total). So Oh sure, you love LeToya — but do you have the chops to write about her? We’d love to know if you think you do. Professional writing experience isn’t necessary (though it doesn’t hurt), but what we really care about is that you can write skillfully about everything related to LeToya with wit, concision, and authority. And being obsessed with LNN is good, too.
- English site Editors – Can be based anywhere in the United Stated. (Houston, Miami, LA a plus)
- Spanish site contributing Editor – Based anywhere as long as your native language is Spanish
- International Editors - Your native language is either French, Spanish, Japanese, Italian or Portuguese. (Your application must be in English, We’ll forgive you if your English is so-so)
We’re looking for:
- Demonstrated passion for LeToya and music in general
- Solid writing ability
- Ability to write under deadline
- Prolificacy
We also require that you:
- Are reachable (cell, multiple IM services, Skype, etc)
- Know (basic) blogger’s HTML (or willing to learn)
- Have the software and knowledge to create and manipulate photos and screenshots
- Possess a fast computer (a laptop is great) and a fast, reliable Internet connection
- Possess a camcorder for performance taping in your area and interviews. (Not a must but recommended)
Want to apply? Read on.
Here’s what you need to send to apply:
- A subject line including what you are applying for (example: “LNN Italian Application + your full name”)
- Your AOL IM and/or Yahoo IM addresses
- Your phone number
- Your city and state
- A cover letter telling us why you’re the right blogger for the job. What can you bring to the team.
- How much time per week you can commit to blogging. If it’s less than 5 posts weekly then you probably shouldn’t bother. Be realistic, okay?
- Any other questions you may have about the gig.
- You can send stuff you wrote elsewhere or link us to your blog if you already have one.
- Two sample posts written in the blogger style (–> Don’t be scared to be the bitch that you are).
- “The blogger style” doesn’t mean a generic-sounding blog voice — think about how your own writing style and voice can shine through while still fitting LNN.
- These sample posts can be about whatever you want, but they should seem like they could have been written by one of our writers (but without all the typos and gross inaccuracies). We won’t be using these on the site, we just want to get a sense of how well you can do this stuff.
- Since when are you a LeToya fan? (and why)
- Three suggestions for how to improve LNN
- Give us a few words about how you think LNN differs from other celebrity sites out there.
