Petition update: over 750 signatures total so far
by ControlFreak on Sep.29, 2009, under NEWS, OPERATION REGRET

Over 750 People total have signed one of the LeToya petitions so far.
LeToya’s fanbase couldn’t get together and settle. So yeah awkwardly we have 4 different petitions going on. One being started after one was already around. We decided to promote the first one that was created and sent to us as well as the first petitiononline one (for those who don’t have twitter) and stick with them. The twitition one already had 80 signatures at the time but for some obscure reason some other fan decided to create their own, spreading out false rumors on their site that only theirs counted for the label when obviously it’s not the case. We didn’t understand why they wanted to restart from scratch after all the efforts fans already made to get the first 80. Anyway they all support LeToya and that’s all that matters in the end.
Here are are comments you can find on petitiononline : (Go tell Capitol what’s in your mind too if you haven’t already!)
ojie Imoloame: Well, I am highly disappointed in Capitol records for the rubbish work they are doing for their artist.
Anthony King-welsh: How can a artist who had a debut album go number 1 and not get any real promotion with the sophmore CD. This is poor i got the album and its so much better and a step upwards for LeToya and she being made to drown. What would she do if she didn’t promote herself? Come on label give the fans something!!
Alex: WAKE UP CRAPITOL!!!
arnelle jackson: That is not fair toya cd is the bomb yall need to be ashamed of your self for leaving her high and dry like that
denecchi jackson: Letoya’s new cd is HOT and it is a true injustice that she is not receiving the level of promotion needed to make the cd a winner. So many people did not even know about her new album. PLEASE Capitol/EMI support her as an artist! Every artist that’s “hot” is not delivering this quality of music. We need the quality of music the Letoya is delivering, please do not let this album fall through the cracks!!!!!!
Rhonda Lewis: Capitol Records really needs to step their promo of letoya luckett up. If not for her promoting this album no one would know about it. Capitol Records has barely done if anything at all to promo letoya’s lady love album. You should be ashamed of yourselves and shouldn’t be allowed to call yourselves a record lable. Poor album sales is no excuse you should be able to use since your lable has not put in the work to ensure it’s success, I am going to need you to step your promo game up by like 10,000\% or release this phenomenal artist from your sorry label so she can persue other avenues to get her music out .
Matthew Weir: EMI…You are rubbish, Letoya deserves better.
Shanita Daniels: I am extremely hurt because the right singles were not chosen and if you want return on an album you have to be willing to invest. Step outside of the box and turn this album around. Perfect example i remember when rihanna good g g bad album dropped with umbrella the album sucked but the single was fire. She wasnt as as she is now, and the word was that her album sucked. I agree I bought the original album. the label revamped added 5 new songs and the REST IS HISTORY. please dont sleep on this album or this artist because there is tons of money to be made.
Kerby: Capitol you have fallen from grace. LeToya Luckett LADY LOVE is one of the best RNB albums to come out in the year 2009 and yet you do not even show support to such a magnificent artist. It is really a da** shame Capitol would support music about “kissing a girl” like Katy Perry. Must LeToya be white and show affection to the same sex to have full support from her own record label? LeToya is an exceptional artist who deserve to shine like star she is.
G: Capitol I must say there is vast difference between promotions from LeToya’s first to her current offering. We the fans are highly dissapointed that you as a record label did not give your artist LeToya the support that she rightly deserves. With her first album LeToya was EVERYWHERE (Ellen, Tyra, 106, Letterman, Jay Leno, etc.)! This time around my girl LeToya is putting Capitol to shame by going out there promoting her ish on Twitter ALONE without your support. SHAME ON YOU!!!
kim: Capitol Records, you guys need to step up the promo! LeToya is a talented artist that deserves support from her record label. The fans have done sooo much to push this album. We even made the single, “Regret” become #20 on the R&B charts. Please promote this wonderful and talented artist. Thank you.
Cody Mitchell: THIS CD IS BEYOND GREAT…HER VOCALS HAVE IMPROVED. LETOYA IS AN ARTIST WHO ACTUALLY SHOWED GROWTH FROM THE 1ST ALBUM TO THE 2ND. AND IT DESERVES TO BE PROMOTED AS SUCH. I CAN NAME 5 TO 8 SONGS ALONE THAT DESERVE SINGLE TREATMENT (WITH A VIDEO!)
Chianti primus: LeToya Is Very Talented & She Needs To Be Promoted Better.
Demond Welker: This is a VERY VERY good album that DESERVES to be heard by the public! Give it chance!
Steve: GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER CAPITOL! ARTISTS GET OUT WHAT THE LABELS PUT IN
Diego: please lady love is a diamond promote more this cd letoya is a big singer
[OMG!] About LeToya being dropped from Capitol Records….
by ControlFreak on Sep.27, 2009, under GOSSIP, NEWS, OPERATION REGRET
Rumors of LeToya being dropped by her label are spreading over the internet. True or not? Well not really. Technically we could say yes but from a legal perspective, not just yet. EMI Music informally let it be known that they were no longer interested in funding LeToya’s project and as a result it is being considered to end the partnership. They are currently reviewing ways of ending the record deal in a proper manner. (LeToya was originally signed for more than 2 albums). Lawyers of both parties are still working on this case.
The thing is, they want to get rid of her but it’s their fault the album is not performing as good as hoped. There is big drama behind this situation, which explains why EMI didn’t promote the album in the first place – but we’re not sure if we can disclose it here. (In case you really wanna know. Here is a hint: It has to go with Kelly Rowland stealing budgets from LeToya’s to promote her song ”When Love Takes Over” – which is under EMI Music as well. Watch! These people will hunt her for the rest of her life…)
Anyway! The only way to make EMI/Capitol revert their decision is if “Regret” becomes a HUGE hit (meaning they see $$$ coming back in return of their investment) …. and it’s clearly on its way to become one… but LeToya needs YOU to make it happen! (thanks to you the song is now #12 in the US (Urban Radios).
How can you contribute?
1) Request Radios, TV, magazines:
- either call/text manually your local radio stations, email TV Shows. Here is a list HERE.
2) Let Capitol know that you are here to support LeToya
- Sign the official petition http://twitition.com/DTU4B and if you don’t have twitter www.petitiononline.com/ladylove . So let Capitol know what the deal is by signing these petitions.
3) Last but not least but most important: BUY the song “Regret” online (Itunes, Amazon). It’s just 99cents. If you did already, buy it from your friends/family’s iphones/zunes and give them that dollar. Most of the time they will tell you that you can keep it! So you can buy unlimited times! (Ghetto but it works!)
Thank you to every single person supporting the Operation Regret.
Hopefully LeToya will make it work with Capitol – at least for this project alone (then she can bounce). We don’t want to see such an outstanding album go to waste! right?
CAPITOL RECORDS OFFICIALLY WORSE LABEL EVER
by ControlFreak on Aug.27, 2009, under LNN FEATURES

I warned you. Not only they messed up LeToya’s promotion but they are fucking up with the distribution as well. We’re receiving lots of tweets from people complaining about the album’s availability. Lots of stores are sold out. “Sold out” HUUMM Sounds like a good thing right? Not when the album is expected to sell only 25k. (Call me in denial I still don’t believe that number) We understand that Capitol just didn’t bother shipping enough copies. Our sources inform us that some locations received only 20 copies of “Lady Love” while these same stores got 500 of Colbie Calait. WTF right?! So how you gone sell more if people can’t buy the product? (If you come accross a store that is sold out, get at us thru the contact form on the lower right side of this site so we can make sure they are re-stocked)
And listen to this, this is not the only misstep! They also didn’t ship enough explicit versions. They shipped a ratio of 95% of clean and 5% of explicit. What a dumb ass move when most people want to get the real deal. The majority of LeToya’s fanbase ain’t no damn 7 years old. We wanna hear dem “fuckings” and “shits”. No damn bleeps in the middle of the songs. Your best option to get the explicit version as of today is going via digital stores.
In the meantime I personally bought 10 hard copies for the only purpose of supporting. I didn’t open CD boxes because I am listening to the one I bought on iTunes. (by the way, loving the excellent bonus track ”Don’t let me get away”; and no, don’t even start we won’t post it in here. You gotta buy it from itunes to get it). Planning to offer them all as birthday/Christmas gifts.
Anyway Capitol people need to get their shit together. Seriously this company is full of shit and like I said before they all need to be fired. I don’t get what they want. They have an artist (LeToya) right here with all the potential in the world. She’s got the talent, the look, the voice and the personality… and they are still managing to sleep on her. What the fuck is wrong with them? I really hope she leaves their ass after this era is over.
I suggest you contact them and complain directly to them. It seems they’re not really checking out their twitter so I would advice you just call 323-462-6252 or fax 323-871-5185.
LETOYA EMBRACES FANS WITH ‘LADY LOVE’ – New Album Arrives In Stores Today
by LeToyaNews on Aug.25, 2009, under NEWS, PRESS

Capitol Records Press Release
Having established herself as a chart-topping, platinum-certified artist, songwriter and entrepreneur, LeToya is ready to make her next move on August 25 with the release of the singer’s sophomore album “Lady Love” on Capitol Records.
Already shaping up as the female anthem of 2009 is the album’s lead single, “Not Anymore.” Written and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning artist Ne-Yo, the track pulsates with empowering determination as LeToya’s soulful voice reaches out to females who are “fed up” with straying boyfriends. “That drama … I don’t want it anymore,” she declares. “I dried my eyes and realize/I deserve somebody who treats me right.”
The current single, Regret, featuring Ludacris is already picking up steam and showing promising signs of success as it debuted the most added record to Urban Radio picking up more than 35 adds. The bold, yet sultry vocals of LeToya announces how apologetic her man is for ending their relationship as Ludacris lyrically proclaims how a woman should be treated.
The first single, “Not Anymore” finished No.1 Most Added at Media Base. Among the 42 urban stations that have added the song include such powerhouses as, WJLB/Detroit, KBXX/ Houston, KBFB/Dallas, WPEG/Charlotte, WWPR/New York and WOWI/Norfolk.
The video for “Not Anymore’ was shot in Los Angeles under the direction of Bryan Barber. In addition to Ne-Yo, “Lady Love” boasts production contributions by (Tank, Oak, Bei-Maejor, Neff-U). LeToya also makes cameo appearances on albums by two of her label-mates: “Somebody Else” from Avant’s recently released self-titled album and “Love Rollercoaster” from MIMS’ upcoming sophomore set “Guilt.”
Showcasing a more powerful LeToya, “She Aint Got” speaks of a time when a woman has put years of energy into a relationship and when it’s easily interrupted by a miscellaneous other woman. The video, directed by Bryan Barber, features Orlando Hudson and Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Baseball Hall of Famer Dave Winfield as LeToya chants “Swing batta, batta” throughout the chorus of the song. An instant visual hit, the video was immediately added to MTV Jams and VH1 Soul, as Music Choice added it as ‘Most Demanded and Choice Cuts’ and the video remained on BET’s 106th & Park countdown for 3 consecutive weeks.
Born and raised in Houston, LeToya (née Luckett) sang her first solo in church at the tender age of five. After meeting Beyoncé Knowles in elementary school, the pair later joined forces as members of Destiny’s Child. During LeToya’s seven-year stint, she co-wrote two of the group’s gold singles, “Bills Bills Bills” and “Say My Name,” and appeared on the group’s breakthrough album, “The Writing’s on the Wall.”
In addition to her musical talents, LeToya’s also a successful entrepreneur. She owns and operates two upscale women’s boutiques called Lady Elle. Now in its sixth year, the clothing store is located in two of Houston’s premium shopping domains, The Galleria and Uptown Park shopping center.
This summer, Luckett will co-star in her first feature film debut and lead role; The Preacher’s Kid in theatres October 30, 2009 and will play alongside Ashton Kutcher & Katherine Heigl in Five Killers due out in 2010.

LeToya Co-Hosts BET’s ‘106th and Park’ Emotional BET Awards Draws Record 10.6 million viewers; LeToya Performs Top 10 Urban Smash “Not Anymore,” first single off Lady Love album, dropping 8/25
LeToya. A single name ringing a whole lot of bells. Though one month remains before her album hits stores, LeToya Luckett has already piled up a year’s worth of accomplishments. The video for the Top 10 national Urban radio hit “Not Anymore” continues its steady climb up BET’s 106 & Park countdown, perched at #3 as of recent weeks. She co-hosts this popular video show today.
At a moment of emotional gravity for music fans everywhere, LeToya took her place twice, first, as a performer; then, as a presenter, at the recent 2009 BET Awards, which by coincidence was the first celebrity gathering following the passing of Michael Jackson and unexpectedly became a public memorial. LeToya appeared on the awards’ pre-show, singing the sweeping “Not Anymore,” the first single off forthcoming album Lady Love, due out August 25th. She presented an award during the primetime portion, which was viewed on 10% of all televisions nationally that night.
Meanwhile, driven by the single and video, LeToya’s MySpace numbers astound: her page has been visited over four million times, and “Not Anymore” has registered a whopping 7.6 million plays.
The smash success “Not Anymore,” written and co-produced by Ne-Yo, paves the way perfectly for second single “She Ain’t Got…” The thrashing, throbbing anthem, written by Chris Brown, is a hit in more ways than one. LeToya is teaming up with Major League Baseball in rolling out “She Ain’t Got…”; check MLB.com for a LeToya interview and music video tie-in. Or keep your ears open the next time you attend a baseball game, as song snippets will be resonating throughout stadiums across the country. Better still, watch for the song’s music video, featuring current Los Angeles Dodger stars Matt Kemp and Orlando Hudson, as well as Hall of Fame player Dave Winfield.
The prominent TV show ABC News Now ran footage of the new videos with an exclusive interview with LeToya last week Friday. Additionally, CNN filmed a mini-biopic piece on LeToya during the shoot. The prominent TV show Access Hollywood is set to run footage of the video shoot, as will AOL and EssenceMagazine.com. It continues to played on VH1 Soul, MTV Jams, Music Choice and BETJ. Additionally, CNN filmed a mini-biopic piece on LeToya during the shoot. And lastly, expect a dance remix of “She Ain’t Got…” hereafter. LeToya Luckett is definitely in the swing of things.
LeToya’s visibility doesn’t end there. Find her in a slew of print and online publications, starting with a feature in the June issue of Rap Up magazine, their first-ever photo issue. She’s also on the cover of Sister2Sister magazine, and has a spread in the August fashion issue of VIBE magazine’s final issue. Other features past, present and future include: Billboard magazine, Complex online, Jet Magazine, Rides magazine, and Lipstickalley.com. Major newspapers such as the Houston Chronicle and Atlanta Journal-Constitution continue to document her progress and promise further coverage the week of Lady Love’s release. LeToya. What else need be said? Absolute success has always been her destiny.
