WHERE MY 2 MILLION AND A HALF AT?! EMI AND YOUTUBE NEED TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER!

by on Dec.11, 2010, under LETOYANEWS FEATURES

I received several emails bringing this to my attention and I think it’s worth addressing. LeToya’s video count views on YouTube went dramatically down making her look like a new wannabe artist with little success. Her video “Not Anymore” for example went from about 2 Million and a half views to a ridiculous 106,000. A mess! Let me explain to you what happened…

DID LETOYA LEAVE CAPITOL RECORDS & MBK?

by on Jul.21, 2010, under NEWS, POLLS

LeToya has been excited lately about “New beginning” and such. She wrote on twitter “GOD IS SOOO GOOD!!!!! YA’LL DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW OVERJOYED I AM!!!!!!! FREEDOM NEVER FELT SOOO GOOD!!!! AMEN 2 #NEWBEGINNINGS”. We’re not 100% sure of what this means but if you know LeToya’s story we don’t need to speak much.

Capitol Records, a division of EMI Music is in a terrible financial situation and is allowing a lot of its artists to leave without hassle. Is it still needed to remind you that they handled LeToya’s project the worse it could ever possibly be handled. It looks like LeToya finally realized how much star potential she has and that she can’t be slowed down by such a horrible and clueless team behind her.

Also, surprisingly LeToya isn’t showing on her (former?) Management company MBK Entertainment’s site. This change happened after Alicia Keys announced she was leaving them.
As far as I know, MBK has done a great job keeping LeToya’s name on the map after Capitol’s missteps. They could have focused on her even more after Alicia’s departure so it’s hard for me to understand this decision if it were to come true.

All of this is just speculations so don’t take our word for it.

MBK Entertainment didn’t return calls seeking comment on the situation.

Here is a poll where you can voice your opinion. Should LeToya Yes Or Not leave Crapitol Records? What label would fit her best? Vote and comment below.

CAPITOL RECORDS FUCKS IT UP AGAIN: “REGRET” REMIX WON’T BE RELEASED

by on Nov.08, 2009, under NEWS, OPERATION REGRET

2891504168_a20428514e

Capitol has definitely earned its title of worse label ever. Bad Boy comes close but at least they get their people on TV.

So what’s up now? Capitol decided that they don’t want to pay whatever needs to be payed to release the “Regret” remix we’ve all been waiting for. Don’t they get it yet that YOU DO NOT FUCK WITH LETOYA FANS? This ain’t “Jaickon” or some other no name artists you signed. This is LETOYA MOTHERFUCKING LUCKETT. She’s a STAR and her fans will support her and go against you if you’re not doing your motherfucking job. Why is your people ain’t promoting her. Check out this Capitol Records representative’s twitter page. She promotes all your other wack artists but NOT LeToya???? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT! You should be promoting her FULL FORCE! Her single is tearing up the charts thanks to the fans, she’s all over the blogs, everybody’s talking about her, you need to CAPITALIZE on that Capitol.  You have no other artist doing this good. Look at the charts. She is the only reason why your name is even on there.

Not only these bitches won’t pay for promotion but they don’t ship the album to stores. They only shipped 110,000 copies total and they do not re-stock sold-out stores. Good luck people if you try to find one of the 20,000 copies left spread out all over the country. (She sold about 90,000 out of 110,000 so far).

So they say they do not want to release that remix or pay for any promotion whatsoever (even with the fact that the song is CLEARLY a hit) because the song isn’t generating much sales of “Lady Love” but let me tell you bitch Darius (Toya’s a&r) , if you ain’t making sure that people at the sales department ain’t putting the album in stores, how do you expect it to sell? How can people buy something that is not available. Are you kidding?  Did y’all go to school? This product needs to be MARKETED AND ….DISTRIBUTED. duh! Ya’ll should just be FIRED.

Capitol bitches, I need you to do the proper standard marketing necessary for “Regret” if you do not want  to get your asses kicked by Mexican gangs. Hollywood and Vine ain’t far from us.

- Put a big ass ad on itunes’s main page (Not only R&B, but the MAIN PAGE) for the single “Regret”.  (Make sure with Apple that her songs can be found on itunes whether people type “letoya”, “letoya luckett” or “latoya”).

- Make the “Regret” ringtone available on itunes. (Not currently the case)

- Send the song for add to Rhythmic radios and send it to deejays (vinyl) . Make sure your people are pushing it.

- I need you to make sure that the “Regret” video will be played by every TV channels possible, including MTV. Premiering it on a major broadcast primetime along with commercials announcing it would be great. (instead of BET or hell essence.com). Money talks, bullshit walks, make it happen.

- I need you to get her on every single TV Shows. First era we had Ellen, Tyra, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Apollo, Regis & Kelly, etc… I want all that to be booked again + more.

- Get another LeToya branded car.

Capitol WAKE UP!

To my fans out there, all we can do people at this point is request “Regret” and get people to buy it on itunes/amazon so it can reach TOP 10 on Billboard Hot 100. Can we do this? YES WE CAN!

Fans come to Letoya’s rescue against Capitol Records

by on Sep.21, 2009, under NEWS, OPERATION REGRET

Capitol Records decided to stop the funding of the “Lady Love” project. We all know the story. Now LeToya fans decided to start a petition to save the project:

Dear Capitol Records/ EMI Music,

We, the fans of LeToya Luckett believe she is a master at her craft. Over the past three years, her vocals and stage presence have greatly improved. Most artists these days do not evolve as she has, which shows how extremely dedicated she is. She has so much potential and has our full support to achieve ultimate success and she needs yours as well.

LeToya fans are EXTREMELY disappointed with the way you have been treating her and her “Lady Love” album thus far. We believe that she has proven she deserves the same promotion as her label mates e.g. Katy Perry. We fully understand that her first two singles did not push this album as we had all hoped, but with the lackadaisical promotion they were given we are not surprised. However, the third single, “Regret” featuring Ludacris, has already shown it has the potential to become her next smash hit single. We, the fans, have pushed this song into an enviable top 20 position without your support, but top 10, top 5 and even the big 1 can happen, but we need your backing.

We request that you provide, at the very least, the same promotion to that which her debut album received e.g. more than two or three TV performances, that send Regret for radio ads be given an official add date to build upon the strong airplay performance we have started, and provide LeToya with the budget reflective of a Grammy award winning, Platinum selling artist, with two #1 albums to her credit , so a successful “Regret” video can be produced and distributed. We understand that money does not grow on trees, and so far the album has not returned all of your investment, but we know believe that “Regret” can will change all of that with you your fully renewed support.

Thank you for reading,

LeToya fans, and people who love real R&B music

SIGN THE ONLINE PETITION  HERE AND FOR THOSE WHO DON’T HAVE TWITTER  HERE

Hopefully Capitol Records wakes up when they realize how much of a dedicated fan base she has… They need to inject money into this project and we need a “Regret” video ASAP!

by on Aug.04, 2009, under NEWS, PRESS

New York, NY (Capitol Records) – Having established herself as a chart-topping, platinum-certified artist, songwriter and entrepreneur, LeToya is ready to make her next move on August 25th with the release of the singer’s sophomore album ‘Lady Love’ on Capitol Records.

Already shaping up as the female anthems of 2009 are the album’s lead singles, ‘Not Anymore’ and “She Ain’t Got.” Co-produced by Grammy Award-winning artist NeYo, “Not Anymore” pulsates with empowering determination as LeToya’s soulful voice reaches out to females who are ‘fed up’ with straying boyfriends.

“That drama. I don’t want it anymore”, she declares. ‘I dried my eyes and realize/I deserve somebody who treats me right.’

Showcasing a more powerful LeToya, ‘Not Anymore’ is a fitting next chapter in Letoya’s evolving career. Out the box, ‘Not Anymore’ finished No.1 Most Added at Media Base. Among the 42 urban stations that have added the song include such powerhouses as, WJLB/Detroit, KBXX/ Houston, KBFB/Dallas, WPEG/Charlotte, WWPR/New York and WOWI/Norfolk. The video for her latest new single, “She Ain’t Got,” already has over 60K views on MySpace and is actively on BET’s “106 & Park” countdown.

A founding member of the multi-platinum group Destiny’s Child, LeToya forged her solo status in 2006 with the emotional ballad ‘Torn.’ The No. 1 urban mainstream hit about the travails of a strained relationship spent a record-breaking 24 days at No. 1 as the most requested video on BET’s ’106 & Park.’ It also paved the way to gold- and platinum-certified success for the singer’s self-titled debut album. Featuring production by Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri, the set bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. LeToya went on to garner accolades as Top Songwriter of 2006 by ASCAP and one of AOL’s best new artists that same year.

In addition to Ne-Yo, ‘Lady Love’ boasts production contributions by (Tank, Oak, Bei-Maejor, Neff-U). LeToya also makes cameo appearances on albums by two of her label-mates: ‘Somebody Else’ from Avant’s recently released self-titled album and ‘Love Rollercoaster’ from MIMS’ upcoming sophomore set ‘Guilt.’

Born and raised in Houston, LeToya (nee Luckett) sang her first solo in church at the tender age of five. After meeting Beyonce Knowles in elementary school, the pair later joined forces as members of Destiny’s Child. During LeToya’s seven-year stint, she cowrote two of the group’s gold singles, ‘Bills Bills Bills’ and ‘Say My Name,’ and appeared on the group’s breakthrough album, ‘The Writing’s on the Wall.’

Not only is she a talented singer, LeToya’s a successful entrepreneur. She owns and operates two upscale women’s boutiques called Lady Elle. Now in its sixth year, the clothing store is located in Houston’s Uptown Park shopping center.
