LETOYA AND MIGUEL TO WORK TOGETHER…
by COMMON on Mar.06, 2011, under NEWS

Nothing official here but just reporting on Twitter talks. LeToya tweeted that she loved Miguel’s album. He heard that and told her that they should work together. They then took this to a “Direct Messages” convo. They’re now following each other and I’m pretty sure they are now working on something hot for us. So now at this point it’s just talks so nothing is sure yet. But this is how it went down…

Here are the first images of LeToya Luckett, here with Tom Felton (who plays her boyfriend) and Taraji P. Henson in “From The Rough”. More images below.
The official site was launched today at FROMTHEROUGHMOVIE.COM. LeTOYA LUCKETT plays “Stacey.” Though Luckett is best known for her music (she’s a two-time Grammy winner as an original member of Destiny’s Child, and also a Platinum-selling solo artist), she held her own in From the Rough’s seasoned ensemble cast. With “Stacey,” Luckett gives a tough but vulnerable performance that will thrill her fans around the globe.

LETOYA'S LABEL EMI MUSIC UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP
by thisisme on Feb.02, 2011, under NEWS

EMI, the world’s fourth largest label group along with a successful publishing division, are now controlled by one of America’s largest banks. As predicted, Citigroup seized 100% of EMI Group Ltd. from financier Guy Hands and his Terra Firma group in a restructuring that saw the company’s debt cut from nearly $5.5 billion to just under $2 billion USD. Trying to put the best face on a difficult moment for the music group, CEO Roger Faxon said in a statement:
“The recapitalization of EMI by Citi is an extremely positive step for the company. It has given us one of the most robust balance sheets in the industry with a modest level of debt and substantial liquidity. With that solid footing, we are confident in our ability to drive our business forward.”
Whatever the balance sheet, its unlikely that the bankers have any interest in owning or running a music group. Thus, leaving the sale of EMI – most likely in pieces – almost inevitable.
Rumored buyers are Warner Music (Atlantic Records) and Bertelsmann Group (which had previously left the music business by selling its 50% stakes in SonyBMG to Sony).
In LeToya News this means that LeToya will have a new (hopefully better) team behind her. (That is if she’s still with Capitol)

LETOYA PLANNING ON RELEASING HER NEW ALBUM IN…2012? UPDATE: NO
by COMMON on Feb.01, 2011, under NEWS
UPDATE! Before reading this post it is worth noting that LeToya already confirmed on twitter that LeToyaOnline gave a FALSE information.
Hell to the no! According to LeToyaOnline (who claims nothing can get more “official” than themselves, YEAH RIGHT!), they announced yesterday January 31th that LeToya will release her new album “hopefully” early 2012. LeToya is known for taking her time when recording music but if this is true this is becoming straight ridiculous. While other artists like Rihanna manage to release a great album AND put out a worldwide tour every year, LeToya is averaging 3 years in between albums. In this time and age of the industry I don’t think it is the wisest thing to do. She started recording this album at the end of 2009. I don’t mean to rush her but come on, she knows that people are DEMANDING new music from her. Every other message she’s receiving on twitter is about when is she releasing new music. When you’re still trying to establish your name you can’t be waiting this long and let yourself be forgotten from the public eye. People are starving for new music from her but she can’t deliver. I’m quite unsure what the problem is. I see five possible reasons:
LETOYA SCORES RECURRING ROLE ON HBO SHOW!!!
by mostSWAG on Dec.22, 2010, under ACTING, NEWS

It’s going down for LeToya’s acting career! After taping her movie “From The Rough” with Taraji P Henson, she just revealed that she’s also been taping the HBO show “Treme“. It’s a drama series created by David Simon and Eric Overmyer. (The creative minds behind the successful NBC show Homicide: Life On the Street and HBO’s The Wire) The show takes its name from Tremé, a neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. The series begins three months after Hurricane Katrina where the residents of New Orleans, including musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians, and ordinary New Orleanians try to rebuild their lives, their homes and their unique culture in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricane.
