You know how people tend to remove female singers’s last name. You have those that came out with a last name but people tend to just call them by their first name: Mariah, Janet, Britney, Christina, Keri, etc… You already know that it’s Carey, Jackson, Spears, Aguilera and Hilson.

You have those that came out without a last name but we all know what it is: Brandy (Norwood), Beyonce (Knowles), Ciara (Harris), Ashanti (Douglas), Rihanna (Fenty) and so on.

And then you have LeToya. LeToya LeToya hmmm. The girl was known in Destiny’s child as “LeToya” and then she came out as a solo artist as “LeToya”. But for some reason people not only love to misspell it “Latoya” or “La Toya” but 90% of the time they will add her last name “Luckett” (Usually misspelled as Tuckett, Bucket, Lockett, Lucket or Luckette). So on twitter you’ll come across to a lot of something like “OMG I’m totally in love with this Good To Me song by La toyah Tokkette”. (True story!). And we all know that one case when Wireimage called her “Gloria Tucket”. If there was an award for most misspelled artist’s name in history she would definitely win it hands down.

OMG I reached my twitter limit and I can’t tweet no more!!! Not only LeToya trended last night but she’s taking the luxury to tweet twice! She’s tweeting AGAIN today! A lot of people are watching Preacher’s Kid on BET and are commenting. Now tell me what other actor trends whenever their film is playing on TV? That’s right! Toya can do that! Now yall directors need to know how much start power she has and put her in your movies if you want your movies to get more shine! You hear me Tyler Perry!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! It’s going to be an amazing one. Highly anticipated new music from LeToya, new movies and TV shows are all on the menu of 2011! Get Ready!  LeToyaNews is of course going to keep you posted with all that. So stay tuned with us for the latest of the latest.

What are you hoping for this year?

LeToya is about to have her comeback in the music scene soon. New era means new image/new hairstyle. Even though I realize LeToya is trying to please people by switching it up, one of the #1 complain I still hear the most is that LeToya is “always rocking the same hairstyle”.

Actually she’s got 3 signature hairstyles. She’s got the “Torn/She Ain’t Got hair” (click on it to see), the straight hair a la Aaliyah (my favorite) and she’s got that horrendous curly hair (please don’t do this one ever again). She also had that Victoria Beckham hair during the Lady Love era. I also loved the big hair a la black barbie/black Aubrey Oday she had on Diddy’s video.

We all remember when Beyonce said that LeToya was tone deaf. Well not so much…

I’ve read in multiple websites that they are BOTH 3.5 octave vocalist.

(Her new album is coming soon remember!)

The property is really beautiful so I’m seriously considering buying it as her #1 fan so I could re-live her life and most importantly sleep in her bed. #psycho

“Lady Love” was released August 25, 2009. The first single “Not Anymore” was a Top 10 Urban hit, the second single “She Ain’t Got” reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Dance chart and “Regret” was a smash hit reaching #3 on the Urban chart. This era came with a lot of surprises, and drama. The surprises were definately like defining moments though for Toya. She had a new style of outfits (She was shitting at like everyone’s events), new haircut, new sound, etc. The material from this era is like the best growth I’ve seen from an artist to go from debut to sophmore. And the vocals………….let’s not even go there cause I can make a 10 page essay on that alone. The relationships she’s created with different artists will definately create lots of new paths for the new era. I can’t wait to see what doors have opened for her. And Mike Ruiz baby………I hope he does her third album.

The second biggest thing is that I think everyone has learned something from this era. The fans have learned from their mistakes as far as what songs should be singles (and hopefully learned to stop arguing) and the artist has learned about the label…

The most important thing that has came from this era: Gloria. Gloria has showed out in every way possible. The kick off: Rumors. Defining moment (IMO): Patti tribute. Break-Out single: Regret.

I am so amp’d for Toya and her future, but this era has created a lot of memorable moments and is tiding me over very well. We have gotten so much as a fanbase and will receive more in the future.
