[PICS] LeToya, Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams Get FAB For ESSENCE BLACK WOMEN IN MUSIC

LeToya was at the Essence Black women in music to support her former groupmate Kelly Rowland (who performed was “honored”). She wore a cute cobalt blue cocktail dress and looked her usual gorgeous self.
Michelle Williams was also there and I wished the 3 of them took a picture together.

UNIVERSAL MUSIC TO BUY EMI FOR $1.9 BILLION

The Big 4 record companies just shrunk to the Big 3 according to the Wall Street Journal’s sources. Citigroup is said to have agreeed to sell EMI Music to Universal for $1.9 billion while Sony is picking up EMI Music Publishing for $2.2 billion. All that’s left now is for the three companies to make it official sometime later today or over the weekend.
What that means for LeToya -if she’s even still with Capitol, a division of EMI?- That means that she will be now under one of the best record companies out there. Universal is home of labels such as Interscope (Black eyed Peas, Mary J Blige, Keyshia Cole, Lady Gaga, Keri Hilson), Island Def Jam (Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Ludacris), Universal Republic (Drake, Jessie J, Kelly Rowland) and more.
Now that the label situation is about to be sorted out, let’s hope she FINALLY releases her long awaited new music.

NEW PIX! LETOYA AT THE 2011 ESSENCE FESTIVAL

LeToya premiered her movie “From The Rough”.
The film made its world premiere at the 2011 Essence Music Festival and it will be in movie theaters nationwide on October 7th.
Directed by Pierre Bagley and written by Mike Critelli, the film stars Taraji P. Henson, LeToya Luckett, Tom Felton, Michael Clarke Duncan, Justin Chon, Paul Hodge, Ben Youcef, and Henry Simmons.
‘From The Rough‘ is based on the true story of Catana Starks (played by Henson), a former swim coach at Tennessee State University who became the first woman ever to coach a college men’s golf team. With drive, passion, and guts, she took an unruly group of mismatched kids from around the world and guided them to an all-time record at the PGA National Collegiate Minority Championship.

I can’t wait to see Kelly perform. I know Beyonce is going to do her thing but I am really rooting for Kelly, she is motivating me to get back in the studio and get myself together. Just as a person, she keeps it going, she keeps it moving especially with her new situation in London on the X Factor so I’m very very proud of her. She’s dear to my heart and I’m so excited for her tonight.
