LETOYA PLANNING ON RELEASING HER NEW ALBUM IN…2012? UPDATE: NO

UPDATE! Before reading this post it is worth noting that LeToya already confirmed on twitter that LeToyaOnline gave a FALSE information.
Hell to the no! According to LeToyaOnline (who claims nothing can get more “official” than themselves, YEAH RIGHT!), they announced yesterday January 31th that LeToya will release her new album “hopefully” early 2012. LeToya is known for taking her time when recording music but if this is true this is becoming straight ridiculous. While other artists like Rihanna manage to release a great album AND put out a worldwide tour every year, LeToya is averaging 3 years in between albums. In this time and age of the industry I don’t think it is the wisest thing to do. She started recording this album at the end of 2009. I don’t mean to rush her but come on, she knows that people are DEMANDING new music from her. Every other message she’s receiving on twitter is about when is she releasing new music. When you’re still trying to establish your name you can’t be waiting this long and let yourself be forgotten from the public eye. People are starving for new music from her but she can’t deliver. I’m quite unsure what the problem is. I see five possible reasons:
1 – Her label (Still EMI Music/Capitol Records until further notice) is going (again) through tough times. It is currently rumored that they’re close to bankruptcy and they are in talks to be sold to either Warner (Atlantic) or BMG. So she might be waiting until they get their shit together. Personal Advice To LeToya: Leave Capitol A-motherfuckin-SAP (if not done already) and don’t go to Atlantic either.
2 – The songs recorded in the past year are not good enough so she needs to scrap a lot of that and start over. Personal Advice To LeToya: Use these songs for a mixtape. The fans would appreciate that. Plus you might even have the luck of having a track picked up by the radio like “Deuces” did.
3 – She is not inspired, lack of creativity. After all she’s human just like us. Personal Advice To LeToya: Think out of the box, have FUN doing what you do, feel it.
4 – Hoping for the best, she’s planning a Nicki Minaj/Drake type of release with an entire year of building hype with releases of songs after songs and lots of features during 2011 so she can have a big first week sales. If this was the reason than I wouldn’t mind. Personal Advice To LeToya: Then release the first song ASAP!
5 – She got cast in a movie and will have no time recording and promoting a new album. That, for me, would be a NO NO! They are so many singers that people could care less about their new album but LeToya is not one of those. Each new music from her is always highly anticipated. She has the responsibility to give her fans what they want. We want new music! Not movies! Personal Advice To LeToya: You can do movies when you get older.
If it’s to release a song in November and expect to sell the album in January 2012 then HELL TO THE NO! Personally I’d rather her plan for a May 2011 release of her album (and probably have it delayed until Christmas) than planning to release it in 2012 and having it delayed even further.
Hopefully she can communicate with us a little better. We are in a better situation then let’s say 2007-2008 when she straight up disappeared on us. We couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on but now that Twitter is around and that she’s using it actively we are getting a few updates here and there. I would love to hear her talk a little more about what’s going on with her music though. Like when she’s recording, in the vocal booth or other things like that to keep us posted. Not everything needs to be so secretive.
Anyway, it might be the impatient in me talking but Toya do what you got to do. Just make sure you release your album before the end of the world. LOL
