[WTF!] Mathew Knowles pays HOT 97 off to BOYCOTT LeToya?

OMG The Prophet , Necole Bitchie and Bossip are reporting that Mathew Knowles is paying major radio stations to boycott LeToya. I knew something was going on right there. It was so weird that Hot 97, the biggest Hip Hop and R&B radio in the country (home of Angie Martinez) would completely ignore the hit “Regret” (which is currently the #5 most played song in the country on urban radios) and act like it doesn’t exist. I am so not surprised as they never ever played her and now we know why! I know a lot of people who’ve been requesting the hell outta this song to them and they’ve been acting deaf. This is really crazy! These guys ain’t right. I blame Mathew for doing what he’s doing but I blame them even more for accepting this money/trip or whatever.

I am just pissed off with this shady business and I’ve been closer to God lately so I feel I have to throw this out there. I’m going to give you a little more of my experience. So…. Mathew is in a perpetual fight. I don’t understand what he’s trying to prove but I guess that’s what keeps his life exciting. You think he would have moved on by now but on the contrary, he’s totally obsessed with this Letoya Luckett girl. Wasting time making sure radio stations don’t play her songs, and particularly right now making sure “Regret” doesn’t get any bigger than it already is.
I absolutely don’t understand why he thinks her success would overshadow Beyonce’s. Beyonce is aware of what’s going on but she’s not saying anything to stop her dad. I told her to say something but she said to me “I trust my dad”. Anyway, look at the Urban radio charts, Letoya is #5. That’s a pretty good number but you can notice that the most important radio stations aren’t playing it. Thanks to who? You guessed it right. Rumors you’ve probably heard before are true. Mathew is paying these stations off to boycott her. These expenses are covered up as a trip to go see Beyonce’s tour for review. What’s nice is that these stations’ music directors can pick two to three dates anywhere in the world and travel for free. Mathew of course pays for travel expenses as well as $850 “courtesy checks” for…. meals.
The funny part is some of them just get the free vacation and don’t bother showing up at Beyonce’s concert. Hot 97 was not hard to convince thanks to their ties with Jay-Z. It was a little harder to convince Power 106 and Jamn 945 (asking for bigger courtesy checks) but in the end they accepted the offer. Thumbs up go to KMEL who almost spit at my face and refused to collaborate.
I’m putting this to light because I’m tired of this payola bullshit. You might find all of this outrageous but these are common practices in the music industry… and this is only the tip of the iceberg.
Let’s investigate this case and take a look at what’s going on…
Here in the charts, Yes Toya IS the #5 most played song in the US radios that plays hip-hop and R&B.
But some radios just rather get freebies and $$$ rather than looking at these numbers or hell, just take their listeners’s requests.
Let’s take a look at Hot 97’s playlist (New York’s #1 Hip Hop and R&B Station, Probably THE radio with the most influence in this country): So we have …Jay-Z, Jay-Z, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Jay-Z. No LeToya duh. Can anyone else get some airplay dammit? Other artists have families to feed. Spread the wealth around people, spread the wealth around! How much you need to play LeToya? We, the fans, can start raising money for you.
Let’s take a look at Power 106, #1 HipHop R&B station in Los Angeles. Cassie WTF? That Jamie flop song Digital girl? WTF! Where LeToya at?? …No LeToya. That’s the checks right there again?
Let’s go take a look at Jamn 94.5, Boston’s “#1 for Hip Hop and R&B”. Cute playlist… but NO LETOYA. I can give you double of what Mathew gave you to boycott her. That works for you?

Payola was definitely going on with PD’s and MD’s taking trips etc for playing or not playing records etc. Also, the rumor that the prophet blog had about matthew threatening to pull Beyonce if letoya performed at the bet awards was told to me as well from a Very credible industry connect that’s associated with another huge artist. Ps Matthew’s tactics to stop Letoya are based on he feels he should still be making money off of her. This is fucking awful!!!! Payola seriously??? Anyways Gos always has a plan for letoya, COME ON HER ALBUM WENT TO NUMBER 1 the first time and she had one of the biggest urban songs of that year. Regret is going to be a huge smash. I know this because it has just been charting based on radio airplay. This shows that peopl actually like the song. Basically, the song promoted itself. I have often wondered why certain major radio stations that play urban music will not spin her record….. She has been in the top 10 for quite sometime and they still will not spin that record…. I think something is up might not have started with B’s dad but something is up..
Let us all look on the up side of this. When GOD is on your side then you will always win. Besides any shady crap that could be going on look at what the outcome of is has been….. she is starting to get noticed more and a way is being made for her to walk that walk….. let us keep her walk straight and no side stepping…..

I believe it because of an interview that Missy Elliot did years ago and she stated that entertainment moguls had the ability to basically make you a hit or a miss! Ex. Rhianna…come on now that shit was played so much that you couldn’t help but like it…Def Jam had so much riding on her! I believe it also because “Lady Love” was (is) a damn good project! of course matthew sees letoya success as a threat and regret is in heavy rotation right now. and im curious to know how did lady love flop when it debuted on the R&B charts and #1 again just like her debut cd???? people need to view the facts. Letoya out of all of the destinys child backups is the only one other than michelle with the intelligence personallity and talent to hold her own. Unfortunately, this came out from an employee of Matthew’s company that expressed that he is paying radio stations not to play Letoya’s music. I don’t think it has anything to do with Beyonce’s success because none of the female artists are even close to her (as far as album sales). Matthew is just attempting to ensure that this young lady is NEVER successful in the music biz. It’s a PERSONAL vendetta…not surprisingly. He didn’t want her on the BET awards and he continues his sinister acts against her and she never utters a negative word about him or his family. Her actions convey she’s trying to move on from the DC days and be successful in her own right.

Matthew knows that Bey is at her peak right now. We all know that a peak is defined by the inevitable decline that follows. So, in order for her to stay on top, any form of competition has to be knocked down before it can surface.
He is no different than corporate vultures that resort to trickery and “cover up” schemes to protect their assets. Mega-stars are small corporations in and of themselves – nothing more than commodities that require shrewd Marketing tactics and various publicity outlets to remain in the public eye in order to maintain visibility and stature – so it’s no surprise that he’s doing what companies do, which is proactively going after the competition.
Trouble is, most people WITH SOULS don’t appreciate it and his triflin ways are already backfiring. I refuse to by a Bey album, knowing all the dirty hands it took to get it to the top. When she gets rid of her dirty daddy, then she can get my dollars again.

You saw Dream Girls!! Only in real life, it’s Matthew who is doing the scandelous work. I love Letoya and i know that she has the potential to go far. Regret is a big hit, it jams in the club, the car, and the crib. I always wondered why you never hear as many girls songs on the station as Beyonce. When that damn single ladies came out i swear it was played more than any other song! Dont get it twisted, i respect Beyonce’s talent. Because lets be real , she has that “it” factor. Well personally, if this is true, then the truth will definately come to light…..but it definately makes you wonder why those few “top” stations that adore any and everything Beyonce are the only stations who have yet to spin the track. It ain’t like there aren’t a million and 1 request for the song, cause there are. And those top stations are the leaders in audience impressions, so they know that their input on playing the song is a big deal.

I just read on another blog where someone confirmed that this practice is quite common between the Knowles and Jay z camp, paying radio stations to only play their music, the poster also confirmed this is ILLEGAL and could lead to imprisonment. I didn’t one bit of that until I read the part about the biggest stations not playing her singles. That’s when I had put the hand on the chin and go hmmmm. I’ve always found that so odd. “Torn” “Not Anymore” and now “Regret” were getting great airplay in many cities, while they were no where to be found on the playlists in other cities, like in NYC. That just never added up. Matthew, don’t make me have to come for yo black ass.

im so pissed, its like Toya has one of the hottest albums of the year and she is just being ignored.. Im really suprised now that she has finally been getting the airplay that she deserves in Columbia, S.C., i was shocked the other night she was #4 on the countdown..which was unusual, they dont play her too much because Beyonce and Jay-Z has saturated the airwaves..I just get even pissed when i hear that stupid Video Phone song…I Am Sasha Fierce needs to be put to rest…. no more singles!! They say any publicity is good publicity. Everybody is talking about this, my mom came home and told me about it. I was like wow, Mathew Knowles is really trying to stifle LeToyas career. Just like when she first came out with that hit song, “Torn” and then out of no where Beyonce came out with that Ring the Alarm or whatever song it was. It’s like everytime someone that she worked with tries to make comeback or put out a single then BAM here B is, out with another video. I guess that’s why a lot of ppl say they’re tired of B, because she’s always in the limelight. It’s time to let someone else take over and the samething with Jay. He said he was gonna retire but then comes out with “D.O.A” & BP3. The industry is definitely corrupt, I never witnessed it but I’ve heard all about it and I’m pretty sure B and Jay are paying radio programmers not to play certain songs because they have the money to do it. But everything is gonna come to the light, it already is and if that’s true about Mathew Knowles he’s not gonna have any good luck and neither will his daughters. I heard on the radio down in the A that her album didn’t do too good though so IDK..but they play regret a lot down here so dats wassup. every radio is into payola including the stations that ARE playing LeToya's song. its just worse when they use it to hold somebody back. i hope his colors get shown.
